Side Effects of CBD
- Dry mouth
CBD products can cause a dry mouth. A study of 2006 proved that endocannabinoid system receptors like CB1 and CB2 which are responsible for saliva production and when this is activated, saliva production can drop. CBD arrests the receptors and hence one feels like a dry mouth. This is pretty much normal and all one needs to do is drink some water.
- Nausea
CBD causes mild discomfort and may lead to nausea. This, however, is mild and not of serious concern. This is going away quickly and all one has to do is reduce your dosage or see the proper label before buying the product.
- Lower blood pressure
Extremely high doses of CBD can cause changes in blood pressure for individuals. This change is quite instantly within minutes of CBD entering the system. This mostly occurs if one is on medicine or has prior issues.
- Dizziness
This is lightheadedness caused when people feel low after CBD enters the system. This can be easily resolved by having a snack, a coffee or simply sitting down.
- Headaches
CBD can cause headaches especially aggravate migraines. This is more so due to low-quality CBD or something that contains solvents like ethanol. Moving to higher grade oil is recommended.
- Sleepiness
High doses of CBD cause relaxation and a lot of sleep. One feels drowsy and unable to actively participate. Little quantities are, however, better for insomnia and a bundle of benefits, higher quantities seal the deal.
- Increased tremors in Parkinson’s Disease
CBD activates your system immensely and if one has Parkinson’s disease, it may aggravate the situation. It may worsen muscle tremors. Though it has been proven helpful in treating Parkinson’s disease, higher doses will only make you feel worse.

- 1200-1500 mg for 4 weeks.
